In exclusive footage unearthed Thursday by MSNBC’s Chris Hayes, Bill Gates revealed what happened when he met with the not-so-book-smart President of the United States.

According to the billionaire, Trump seemed to have a strange obsession with sexually transmitted diseases, asking Gates each time they met whether HPV and HIV are the same things.
Video of Gates’ explaining this interaction with Trump:
Gates said, holding back his laughter: “[Trump] wanted to know if there was a difference between HIV and HPV, so I was able to explain that those are rarely confused with each other.”
Let me repeat that: Trump doesn’t know the difference between HIV and HPV.
In other footage aired on All In with Chris Hayes, Bill Gates explained that when he first met Trump, he referred to himself in the third person, which threw the billionaire and philanthropist off.
“When I walked in, his first sentence kind of threw me off,” Gates recalls. “He said, ‘Trump hears that you don’t like what Trump is doing.’ And I thought wow, but you’re Trump. I don’t know if the third-party form was what was expected. You know: Gates says, but Gates knows that you’re not doing things right.”
Of course, it’s not surprising that Trump referred to himself in the third person during his meeting with Gates. It’s something he has done in tweets and public appearances in the past. Just last year, he did it in a speech that was supposed to be about the federal budget.
What is surprising – and chilling – is that a man of this intellect and mental capacity is the President of the United States.
