Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) fled from a restaurant as he was met by protesters chanting “vote you out,” and “where are the children.”

The voter outrage has spread to the Republican Party. Mitch McConnell may not have fled quickly, but he is over 70 years old, so a sprint was unlikely, but the Senate Majority Leader did pick up the pace and beat feet out of the restaurant, while making sure not to acknowledge, or heaven forbid, talk to the protesters to hear their point of view. One of the great moral crimes of the Trump migrant baby kidnapping is that Congressional Republicans have sat on their hands and done nothing, while 3,000 kids are without their families.
Mitch McConnell has the vast majority of the time refused to stand up to Donald Trump with the major exceptions being the ZTE and Russia sanctions. McConnell has let Trump run wild, and it will be Senate Republicans who will pay the price in November. Mitch McConnell’s seat is not up for reelection in 2018, but he can be booted out of the Majority Leader position if Democrats can defy the odds and the map by picking up a net two seats.
Trump’s toxicity has spread to the rest of the Republican Party.
No Republican who enables Trump is going to get a moment’s peace when they go out in public. Republicans have ignored the will of the voters. Now, the American people are getting in their faces to make their voices heard.
