Donald Trump, increasingly unhinged and unfiltered, ripped into a Twitter attack late on Friday late, suggesting NBA star and Ohio hero LeBron James and CNN host Don Lemon aren’t intelligent.

“Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon,” the childish president wrote. “He made Lebron look smart, which isn’t easy to do. I like Mike!”
Trump’s attacks come after the NBA star told Lemon that this president is using sports to divide America when they should be about bringing people together.
In an interview with the CNN anchor, James explained how life in the world of sports has changed him for the better and brought him closer to his white teammates.
The president’s latest petty attack on a high-profile African American completely ignores the fact that the NBA star just opened up his “I Promise” school in Akron, Ohio – a model for education that many believe should be nationalized.
The school provides free tuition, free uniforms, a free bike and helmet, free transportation within two miles, free lunch, breakfast and snacks, a food pantry for families, GED and job placement services for parents, and guaranteed tuition to the University of Akron for every student who graduates.
A smart and compassionate president would commend what the NBA superstar has done, or even reach out to him to see how such a program can be implemented for more communities across America.
Of course, a smart and compassionate president Trump is not.
Instead of insulting one of Ohio’s favorite sons hours before a campaign stop in the state – if anything, that would qualify as dumb – Trump should be paying attention to what LeBron James is doing to transform education and help families in northeast Ohio.
Betsy DeVos – a woman who has demonstrated complete incompetence and ineptitude as Trump’s education secretary – should probably be paying attention, too.
