New Poll Sends Republicans Reeling As Voters Don’t Like Trump by A Nearly 2-1 Margin

This is not good news for the Republican Party as they head into a midterm where they have already spent millions to defend seats in red districts that Trump carried in 2016 in special elections.

American voters do not like President Trump by a stunning 2-1 margin, according to a new Quinnipiac University National Poll released today.

Only 31% of American voters like President Trump as a person, while 59% dislike him. Voters also don’t approve of the job Trump is doing, by 54 – 41% and 48% disapprove strongly. Another 30 percent approve strongly.

The only people who like Trump are Republicans, who like him by a 66-24 % margin.

54-43% don’t like Trump’s policies.

Think about that: 54% do not like Trump’s policies, like their tax cuts where 83% of the benefit went to the top 1% or his policy of jailing babies to try to manipulate Democrats into paying for his unnecessary and, quite frankly ignorant, wall idea.

Even more people than those who do not like those policies dislike the man himself.

The poll also shows that the public doesn’t think Trump treats people of color with the same amount of respect he affords white people, by 54 – 39%. This poll came out on the same day as a tape dropped suggesting that Omarosa was telling the truth about Trump using the n-word, as the tape covers the fact that Trump campaign advisers knew about the tape existing of him using the n-word, and worried about damage control.

Voters say 54 – 37% that “President Trump has emboldened people who hold racist beliefs to express those beliefs publicly.”

Americans do not like Donald Trump. No one but the hardcore Republican base likes President Trump, and this is not good news for Republicans who have been defending and enabling him no matter what he does or says.

The public does not want a racist president: A divider.

Without the help of the Russians, Donald Trump and many of these down-ballot Republicans would likely not be in office today. Ironically, even Republicans agree that it’s not acceptable for a campaign to do what Donald Trump’s campaign did. “It is never acceptable for a presidential campaign to obtain information on a political opponent from a hostile foreign power, voters say 79 – 12 percent, including 69 – 19 percent among Republicans.”

“Only one in three Americans ‘likes’ President Donald Trump,” said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll, said in analysis of the poll.
