Trump’s Acting AG Matthew Whitaker Could Be On The Verge Of Recusing Himself From Russia Probe

In news that is likely to send Donald Trump into another fit of rage, acting attorney general Matthew Whitaker – a man chosen to be a presidential puppet in the Russia investigation – could now be on the verge of recusing himself from the probe.

According to a tweet from CBS reporter Paula Reid, the Department of Justice says Whitaker “will consult with senior ethics officials at DOJ about possible recusal in Special Counsel investigation.”

The news that Whitaker could possibly recuse himself from the Russia investigation comes after the new acting AG has come under intense scrutiny because of his record as a Mueller-trashing conspiracy theorist.

In the past, not only did he call the special counsel probe a witch hunt, but he suggested that the infamous 2016 meeting between Russia and the Trump campaign was no big deal.

Democrats were quick to call for Whitaker’s recusal soon after Trump announced he would be taking Sessions’ position instead of naming Rod Rosenstein, the acting attorney general.

Another recusal could put Trump over the edge

Following last week’s blue wave that gave Democrats control of the U.S. House of Representatives, Donald Trump has been particularly unhinged.

We saw it in his press conference the day after the election when he completely lost control of himself during an exchange with CNN reporter Jim Acosta. It has only continued throughout the week in his dangerous claims of voter fraud, his attacks on California as they battle deadly wildfires and his disastrous trip to France over the weekend.

If the man Trump picked to be his personal shield from the special counsel investigation recuses himself, it could push Trump completely over the edge.
