Trump Operatives Publish New Book About His ‘Embedded Enemies’

Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie were Donald Trump’s Campaign Manager and Deputy Campaign Manager during the 2016 presidential campaign. And now these former Trump advisers — neither of whom have worked in the White House — have published a new book that contains bombshell allegations about members of the Trump administration.

Lewandowski and Bossie claim that there are numerous disloyal Trump officials employed in the White House and in the administration. They call them “embedded enemies of President Trump,” according to The Washington Post, which obtained a copy of the book.

The book is called “Trump’s Enemies: How the Deep State Is Undermining the Presidency,” and it is scheduled for release on Tuesday. The two GOP operatives had previously co-authored a Trump campaign memoir, “Let Trump be Trump,” which was published in 2017.

In the new book, Lewandowski and Bossie criticize many current and former Trump appointees, such as former National Economic Council director Gary Cohn and former staff secretary Rob Porter. They also slam all of Trump’s critics and Democratic opponents.

In one section of the book they write:

“There are far too many people in the deep reaches of the federal government who harbor as deep a hatred of Trump as does anyone from the Clinton/Obama cabal. The thing is, they get away with it when no one is looking.”

The pro-Trump book also contains an interview with President Trump where he attacks “Fake News” as the “greatest enemy of this country.”  He also says that he believes he should have fired former FBI Director James Comey much sooner: “I should have fired him the day after I won and announced please get the hell out.”

The Post article says that the new book “reads in part like Trump’s Twitter grievances in book form.” It also says that the book supports Trump’s accusations that there is a “deep state” working against him inside the administration.

The book seems to further develop themes that were initially set forth several months ago in a New York Times op-ed from an anonymous senior administration official. In that opinion piece, the author described a group of White House staff members who were working against Trump’s instincts and trying to undermine his presidency.

The op-ed author at the time pushed back on “deep state” accusations by writing: “This isn’t the work of the so-called deep state. It’s the work of the steady state.”

But the authors of the new book say that the president is a victim of disloyal staff who are “swamp creatures” intent on blocking his political movement, which they admire.
