Rep. Eric Swalwell: Democrats Have Power And They’re Coming For Trump

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) said that Democrats have power and they are coming to do something about a president who has overstepped his bounds.

Rep. Swalwell said on MSNBC’s The Beat with Ari Melber, “We have the confidence of being able to do something. Honestly, we felt powerless and saw the rule of law and a president overstepping his authority and we relied on the people on the outside and the ballot box to save us. And they have. You still want to shout and go to the streets, but we have been given the power to do something on the inside. I think that’s welcoming for the American people that we are not powerless anymore.”

Swalwell perfectly described the most important change of all. Democrats now have the power to do something. In the minority, all Democrats could do was use their platform to highlight the abuses and behaviors of Trump and the Republican House majority. Democrats can take action, and in a single day, Democrats have taken action on opening the government, corruption, advancing a bill to protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller, and moving to defend Obamacare.

House Democrats came into the majority with a clear plan of action, and Speaker Pelosi has them hitting the ground running.

Trump has faced zero oversight for the first half of his term, which is why Democrats are wasting no time in stepping up doing something about this president.
