Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats have put the heat on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Trump by passing bills to reopen the IRS and Treasury Department.

The Hill reported:
The chamber voted 240-188 to advance the measure, with eight Republicans bucking party lines to back the bill, which is the first of four bills expected to be brought to the floor by Democrats.
The Republicans who voted to advance the measure Wednesday included Reps. Elise Stefanik (N.Y.), Will Hurd (Texas), Fred Upton (Mich.), John Katko (N.Y.), Brian Fitzpatrick (Pa.), Greg Walden (Ore.), Adam Kinzinger (Ill.) and Herrera Beutler (Wash.).
The Small Business Administration and other agencies would also be opened under the legislation.
Speaker Pelosi is dividing the Republicans who have no stomach and are increasingly losing their appetite for supporting Trump on the shutdown. Republicans are already mulling over leaving Trump behind and voting for legislation to reopen the government. Pelosi is putting pressure on McConnell because if he continues to refuse to allow votes on legislation to reopen the government, he and Senate Republicans along with Trump will own the shutdown.
Republicans are already showing signs of cracking. It is only a matter of time before the political backlash gets too intense, and McConnell loses his own caucus.
Pelosi is executing her strategy to perfection. The vice is tightening and Republicans are running out of options as Trump’s government shutdown is squeezing the political will out of them.
