According to Rick Reilly’s new book, before Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, Trump abandoned a golf project there and left the island with a $32 million debt.

Here is a piece from Reilly’s book, Commander In Cheat:
Trump recently ranted about the incompetence of Puerto Rico’s leaders:
Before the hurricane hit, Trump added to the island’s fiscal woes by bailing on a golf course there and piling on the debt. What Trump did in Puerto Rico is how his business operates. Trump begins projects, takes investor money, pays himself and his family, then abandons the project under a mountain of debt. Others are left holding the bag, and Trump has moved on to his next con.
Long before his racist rants against disaster relief, Trump made the financial situation of the island much worse by running one of his golf course cons.
