Speaker of the House Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and Senate Minority Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) are calling on Robert Mueller to immediately testify before Congress.

Pelosi and Schumer want Mueller to testify ASAP

In a joint statement provided to PoliticusUSA, Pelosi and Schumer said, “Attorney General Barr’s regrettably partisan handling of the Mueller report, including his slanted March 24th summary letter, his irresponsible testimony before Congress last week, and his indefensible plan to spin the report in a press conference later this morning — hours before he allows the public or Congress to see it — have resulted in a crisis of confidence in his independence and impartiality. We believe the only way to begin restoring public trust in the handling of the Special Counsel’s investigation is for Special Counsel Mueller himself to provide public testimony in the House and Senate as soon as possible. The American people deserve to hear the truth.”

Mueller’s testimony is the only way for Democrats to get immediate answers

Even if House Democrats sue right away to get the full Mueller report, it will take weeks if not months, for the legal process to play out and the report to be turned over to Congress. The fastest way to get answers is to have Mueller testify under oath in public before Congress. There will be parts of Mueller’s testimony that will have to happen behind closed doors, but most of it can be done in public.

Trump and Barr are trying to undermine Mueller’s findings and destroy the credibility of the investigation. There is only one person who can stop them, and that’s Robert Mueller. Look for Mueller to be testifying shortly. Democrats in Congress aren’t going to waste time and allow Trump to hide the truth.

The strategy to get the facts is already unfolding before the redacted Mueller report is released.
