Cory Booker Defends Joe Biden And Slams The Media For Elevating Trump’s Lies

New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker stopped the debate in its tracks on Tuesday night to defend former Vice President Joe Biden and slam the media for elevating Donald Trump’s lies during the Biden family.

“We are literally using Donald Trump’s lies, and the second issue we cover is elevating a lie and attacking a statesman,” Sen. Booker said, referring to Biden. “That was so offensive.”

Booker said:

I am having Déjà vu all over again, first of all, because I saw this play in 2016’s election. We are literally using Donald Trump’s lies, and the second issue we cover is elevating a lie and attacking a statesman. That was so offensive. … The only person sitting at home and enjoying that was Donald Trump seeing that we are distracting from his malfeasance and selling out of his office.

Many in the media are forcing Biden to defend completely appropriate behavior

Earlier in the debate, Biden was asked about his son’s business dealings with Ukraine, which is essentially a validation of Trump’s debunked claims about Hunter Biden.

While CNN’s Anderson Cooper was sure to say that Trump’s claims about Hunter Biden were unsubstantiated, making the former vice president defend himself and his son only gives off the perception that there is something valid about the president’s desperate lies.

Cory Booker may have had difficulty getting speaking time early in the debate, but he made a splash on Tuesday night by standing up for Joe Biden.
