Rand Paul Calls For The Repeal Of The Espionage Act To Keep Trump Out Of Prison

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is trying to keep Trump from being locked up by calling for the repeal of the Espionage Act.

Paul tweeted:

There is no way that Trump is anything comparable to a WWI dissenter, and it is funny that Rand Paul never brought up this issue before it was announced that Donald Trump is under investigation for violating the Espionage Act.

If Donald Trump is found to be breaking the law, the Republican solution is to change the law.

Trump could have been potentially committing crimes against the United States, and Rand Paul’s solution is to create a get-out-of-jail-free card. The Republican Party is hopeless. They are no longer pretending to care about democracy or the law.

Republicans have become lawless party of authoritarians who are willing to do anything to restore Donald Trump to power. Sen. Paul wants to make espionage legal just so that Donald Trump avoids potential punishment.
