A new poll found that 74% of Americans believe there should be a law forcing presidents to release their health records, and 81% want all presidents including Trump to take a yearly cognitive test.
I have been beating this drum for a decade. All presidential nominees should be required to release their full health records. America has a long and problematic history of presidents covering up health issues, and Trump has taken that to a new level. It needs to stop.---Jason

Yes that is true. a full neuro psych evaluation takes about three hours and is composed of multiple tests which stress test just about every cognitive faculty. Ideally in older patients showing signs of disorder the tests should be administered in one year intervals to measure decline. The doctors can then decide on what types of mitigation strategies to pursue. The problem is that if the patient is in denial as Trump may be, there is currently no law that requires he take medication although the physician does have a legal requirement to report to the state driving license authority if she believes he is a driving risk.
This presidential position does not currently have a job description or a listing of requirements beyond citizenship and minimum age of 35. How bout an actual job description that would include public service, and requirements that would include a governmental complete medical exam along with the initial resume, and one annually going forward, fully published, with pre-determined markers for non-eligibility. Who’s going to drive this initiative? How will it pass? We seem to come up with great ideas but execution is near impossible. Why not impeachment? Yes. I must take one every year when I renew my status with the Department of Aging here in Illinois. Strangely it’s not all that easy because I have ADHD and struggle with some of the memory questions. For me it’s just to show them I don’t need more services than they already give me. But it’s so clear to me that Trump is in far worse shape than I have ever been. Plus, he’s president of the United States. He should be able to complete these simple tests with no problem. My guess is that he cannot, which is why he doesn’t want the results to be known.

There should be age limits on how late in life you can run for a political office - like 65 - if you haven't been elected by age 65, you need to retire and go live out your life. All cognitive tests should be released as well as medical records so that we can see that the person who has influence over the lives of 347 million people is up to the job.

Presidents (and candidates) should have mental and physical health exams conducted by independent private ( non government) physicians and an official report made public. The Commander -in-Chief should not be able to order the examining physician to modify the results for the public report!
