It is laughable that republicans continue to claim that tax cuts will stimulate economic growth. They have been repeating this bullshit for more than 40 years and it has NEVER happened.
Well, the billionaires cannot stay billionaires in this country if they destroy the economy... so they would be cutting off their noses to spite their faces... and no other country is going to support these "ya-hoos" as they have found out - musk with china and europe. They are implementing Project 2025, just as we all knew they would. However, they are NOT succeeding at everything they are trying to implement. Go look at the tracker and find out how most of it has turned out.
That is not to say that they haven't done some damage, because they have. They've screwed things up pretty bad in some cases, like shutting down the USAID such that it is not operational. They couldn't eliminate it without Congress, which hasn't happened yet because recission packages have to pass both the House and the Senate.

It’s incredulous how people are going about their lives like nothing is going on. A good part of my family and friends are MAGAs. They listen to Fox 24/7. But even democrats don’t want to discuss anything because as I said, they feel I’m too far left and into conspiracy theories with Project 2025. Other excuses are they have their own problems, God will intervene, they can’t handle hearing about it, we can’t do anything about it, and many are plainly not interested. They end up normalizing it all, which is what they’ve done with Trump for years already.
I agree with you, but there are plenty of folks who are outraged if you suggest that going to the polls in 2026 & 2028 won't oust this regime. Project 2025 makes it clear that fair elections are over. Trump has installed the architects of Project 2025 in his administration and they are rapidly working their way through their checklist. There is nothing to stop them. We truly are Germany 1933. Will we have the courage to stop them to save our children & grandchildren?
Let me tell you why I do not agree with the idea that we will go the way of Germany and why, even though they may be following the hitler playbook, America is not going to go down that way.

Realize that America is not Germany. Let’s compare the U.S. to Germany. The German population was about 65 million people in 1933 when Hitler started rounding up the Jews. These people were spread across a land mass of 138,067 square miles. In 1945 when the war was over, the population in Germany as a whole was approximately 70 million split between East Germany and West Germany, where there was a wall built.
When the Nazis took over, very few people in Germany owned guns and especially not Jews. Hitler immediately tightened up gun laws for the general population and took guns away from people.
The U.S. population is currently over 347 million people spread across 3.8 million square miles with high mountains, canyons, forests, caves, caverns, and many other hidey-holes. In the U.S. today there are an estimated 393 million guns in private homes and the gun laws, at least for now, are being loosened so that people can have more destructive weapons privately. No effort has yet been made to indicate that this government is going to round up the guns.
I am not saying it is not possible for the U.S. to end up like Germany. But, the circumstances here are very different and we have a very diverse bunch of people to “round up!” and more than a majority of them are not going to go willingly, give up guns willingly, roll over and go quietly and willingly. This is NOT Germany even if drumpf and his goons are playacting as if it were and the media is trying to scare us into believing we are doomed to the same fate.
For every day that we have that we are not “rounded up” and carted off, we have another day to fight back as a whole group, not as individuals. We have to stick together. I am thinking that many people will probably die before it is all over. I do not have a crystal ball to know just exactly how this will play out. But drumpf is NO hitler, and the U.S. is NOT Germany!
We must keep rallying and railing against the injustices and violation of rights to our fellow Americans who are being rounded up, who are being incarcerated, who are being deported. These rallies are happening in every state. I watched a video from Colorado this morning. Today is a brand new day and we have another opportunity to make our voices heard in numbers that drumpf and his goons have never seen before. Remember that 1500 insurrectionists nearly overtook the Capitol building and might have succeeded if they had not been called off in the end. Can you envision millions of angry people turning out to peacefully protest the assault on the American way of life?
Camp Auschwitz opened in Florida on about the same timeline when Hitler opened his first camps. It part of the playbook. Unfortunately, 2026 will be no different then Germany in 1934. Any countries not allied with Russia and North Korea better start head hunting American Scientists, Doctors, Engineers now.
From my 21 years of Naval service, both active fleet and reserves, I must agree with you. Never at naval OCS in 1974. I never saw or heard any such discussions in any Naval Reserve Centers I inhabited in AL,TN, or GA. There certainly was no such consideration before Calley was convicted. I am not sure at all that there have been any others since then.
Probably never occurred they’d need to train our military to decide whether to go against the president and commander in chief or not. It never occurred to them that our president would be a traitor trying to destroy our country, someone like Trump. I assume many are struggling with what they’re being ordered to do. If we get through this, there may be changes in the military regarding this.

They are very wealthy and powerful and have already replaced many in the government with MAGAs. They are also sick sociopaths and vengeful. I’m with Bernie and importantly, I am with all of you too who care about our fellow Americans who will be hurt by this bill. Not only do we need a major course correction, but we must move forward with our shared values of American know-how, innovation and generosity and conduct a surgical bypass to the antiquated system of the Trump administration. This administration lives in the past, is reactive, uses propaganda and lies, and is destroying long standing relationships with allies. These actions are hurting each of us. And that is only what we feel today. The more hurtful repercussions are still to come. Can we honestly think things will change? We have to embody the changes we want.

I believe Sen. Sanders. However, this all started back in the Reagan days. Gets progressively worse with each republican president.
