It's actually damn near impossible to get medicaid in many states. The income and asset limits are insanely low. A single person cannot make more than 967 a month in Florida, so less than a full time job at minimum wage. There are however other programs where you have to pay 2/3 of your monthly income on medical bills, then the state picks up the difference but only if your monthly income is 120% or less of the poverty limit. . Orher programs are designed only for very specific diseases. And loss of privacy? You give up ALL RIGHTS. And while waiting for a determination, guess what happens. Your medical debt goes on your credit report. So your FICO score also takes a massive hit. No one wants to be on medicaid, but sometimes bad things happen and medicaid is the safety net of last resort. And the fraud...it isn't by recipients, but insurance companies (ask our US Senator Scott ), and 3rd party payers. Not those who are actually ill.
