It might as well be 100 votes (sorry for the pessimism). After what has been happening lately, I just don’t think anything will go our way/ stop them 😫

Honestly? I think many of us feel this way. Giving up is what they want and of course fear is also a factor. It’s frustrating, but a tiny part of my brain still has hope. It will have to come down to we the people.

That’s what matters and you are not pessimistic, just concerned and you have a right to be. Just know you’re not alone and hopefully it will help to know that.🥰

Please come to your senses. Bezos is spending 50 million for a wedding. He and his ilk do not need these tax cuts. They will put our grandchildren and their grandchildren into debt that will crush them. Regular folks who live paycheck to paycheck need stopgaps like SNAP, MEDICAID, and MEDICARE and Social Security. We do not want our public lands auctioned off. We do want regulations on AI. There are many ugly things hidden away in this massive document. Like a massive amount of money to sustain the illegality and ugliness of immigrant deportation to unconscionable hellholes around the world . Hardly ANY of the provisions of this bill do good things for “we the people”, the everyday Americans.

We need to shut down everything. So this stops. We should help Amazon fall like musk has experienced. It’s completely up to us now. If we don’t boycott these greedy pigs we will lose. I mean, come on what else has to happen. We’re having concentration camps built. We are watching them picking up people off the street randomly and they Disappear. I am starting to Question wether these people are living anymore.

There better be a big vote of NO on this piece of filth they call a ‘bill’. All democrats better vote NO! Any democrat that votes yes, needs to be voted out of office or impeached for being a traitor to the people!

Reading Abigail Disney's condemnation of the wealthy, clueless class today: "Yes, the rich should pay more taxes, and that includes me" in TNR, I felt relief that there indeed is one wealthy person who has kept her humanity. Here is something she wrote:

..."One person I know, when dialing 911 in an emergency, stopped for a second to ask themselves, “Isn’t there a special number for someone like me to call?” This is a little funny and a lot tragic. When adrenaline fails to trump your sense of entitlement, when a medical emergency still cannot convince you that you are not something better than merely human, you’ve lost yourself to catastrophic arrogance."

I applaud him for standing up for medical care for his constituents but the tax bill is still outrageous!! The millionaires/billionaires still get their tax break at the expense of our children and grandchildren!! The debt will be enormous!!!

Hats off to the Dems who are working so very hard to stop this criminal travesty. And there is no reason to fast track this for the demanding child president, for whom more is never enough. Serious adults know that legislation takes time, focus, discussion, compromise - and that it is worth waiting for.

Doesn’t matter if Americans are pissed off about this bill.

Why?

Because TACO, muskrat, Speaker Johnson and Putin have future elections are fixed for republicans to win. In addition to the voter suppression laws passed by republicans!

DEMs need to wake the F’up and protect the elections else the outcome will be the same as 2024 elections.

Yes 2024! Y’all know there is no way under the sun that the 2024 elections weren’t rigged!

I’m sorry to be so blunt, but, I have absolutely NO CONFIDENCE that ANY Senate Republican will end up voting NO on this bill! Maybe Rand Paul. Some know they should because they’ve stated that they have concerns, but, it’s all theatrics in the end for their constituents! They know damn well that bull💩 bill will destroy hospitals and nursing homes in their state as well as take healthcare away from people who need it which will potentially cause deaths. It will also cause more hunger! Dispite knowing ALL this, they will still vote in compliance!

Ron Johnson (R. WI) will vote no. He wants deeper cuts to Medicaid. He’s scum.

Ron Johnson got his cuts so he voted yes. I harassed him everyday for months about this as I’m sure other constituents did. He kept saying he needed to make sure his kids and grandkids had enough money. He’s a millionaire, I doubt it would have been a problem for them…..I’m beyond disgusted.

I think states should start seceding. I don’t want to be part of this mess anymore and I don’t see it getting any better.

Good luck the republicans will tell you one thing and do the other. They like fucking people out of anything. I think that the republicans actually sit up there and see which one of them can come up with the cruelest action against the American People.

He says he won’t run again. I’m an independent voter in NC. I haven’t always liked his votes, but I’ve seen Tillis buck the pressure at least three times. He tried against what must be incredible pressure. I’ve called to say thanks. I hope he stays in public service in a place and time when we recover our balance in government. Time to hit the house now.

I tried years ago to warn people not to vote for Republicans but the right-wing propaganda machine won again in 2024! Until people wise up to the reality that the Republican brand under Trump is BAD FOR THEIR HEALTH, they will continue to vote against themselves. Boggles the mind.

Fighting Trump's never-ending corruption is exhausting.

I admire your dedication, Jason.

The web of lawlessness being woven by Russell Vought, the Heritage Foundation, Peter Thiel, Stephen Miller, and the rest of the dark-right fascist players is intricate on purpose.

Their attack on the poor, the middle class, our judicial institutions, and ethnic minorities is systematic and fully planned.

And yes, some Republican "politicians" are fearful of losing their seats for supporting these actions against Americans and basic human rights.

What they should really be fearing are future public trials when they could lose their freedom or worse, their wealth, for those many crimes they have and are committing and/or are supporting as we speak, which include treason, dereliction of duty, violating their sworn oathes, bypassing our judicial system, attempting to illegitimately gut our Constitution, and yes, the murder of American and global citizens as a direct result of many of their immoral policies, be it on immigration, healthcare, social services or support of genocidal dictators to name but a few.

After all, it took the Nuremberg trials to commence rebuilding Germany after WW2. The same applies here. Soon, I hope.

Finally, America doesn't require a Trump-ego fantasy Golden Dome as its only REAL enemies are Trump, the Republican Party, their wealthy funders, our utterly corrupt Supreme Court, and the MAGA cult of jingoistic, perpetually malcontent, and mentally-challenged dunces.

And they already all live here, so take that dome budget and invest it in free lobotomy and re-education clinics nationwide. The teams organized to gather these treasonous individuals will be called LICE for obvious and appropriate branding purposes.

That'll create a much higher ROI, if it's truly national security we're aiming for.

The Nuremberg trials held the Nazis to account. The Marshall Plan, named after General George Marshall, rebuilt Germany and Europe. They are STILL grateful for what we did to fight in WWII and to rebuild there. It wasn't until the 1950s that Europe and the world were on a better footing. We had the GO Bill, largely restricted to white males, that helped people buy their first homes a full generation after many of their parents lost homes and farms to bank foreclosure. Of course, by then we also had McCarthy era, which took significant effort and standing up against him and Ray Cohen, donnies's mentor, to get us to the 1960s. Remember, today's senior citizens lived through those years and are still around. We may not march in the streets, but we can be loud, proud, and hell, no, we're not going down the fascist path.

I live in SC, so Tillis isn't one of my senators, but live close to the NC border, so have been seeing ads targeted to Tillis and NC voters about the Medicaid cuts. Looks like the ads worked! However, my senators, Graham and Scott, are such a firm "yes" for this obscene bill, that they weren't targeted. The group running the ads wanted to spend their money wisely.
