Thank heavens! Playing by the rules while the GOP breaks every single one of them made no sense. The days of "reaching across the aisles" are gone. This fight isn't just about the soul of America, but its very existence as a democracy. As it is now, America is a fascist police state.
It's "GO!" time and there are no "rules!" In order to save our Democracy and ourselves, we are going to have to jump in the mudhole and duke it out one to one.
I had to laugh when the "R-MAGAs" screamed bloody murder over California telling Texas, you redistrict and so will we - you may gain 5 "R" seats, but we will gain "9" D seats. New York joins in and that's another 7. If all the blue states combine the redistricting to eliminate all the "R" seats, that will add more than 50 "D's" - so go for it, Texas - take away the Democrats in your State and we'll take away the House and the Senate from you!
I am glad that Democrats are fighting fire w/fire but I am sad that they have to because there is so little good faith by the GOP. But Dems should have recognized this as far back as Merrick Garland getting hosed to become a SCOTUS justice.
Even us Democrats say that Democrats in D.C. are wimping out on us against Trump's BS.
Silent protests as in that farce of a Joint Address to Congress where he downed Democrats vehemently and praised Republicans, where Al Green was the only one to stand up and speak out and was escorted out of the Address.
The rest of the Democrats sat silent with their paddle board signs when they all should have stood alongside of him, and should have walked out with him in protest.
I lived for many years in Texas, San Marcos, Kyle, Martindale and a brief stint in Austin, herself.
(For the record, I am originally from Massachusetts, have lived in TX many years, Georgia, and uuuggghhh... Florida currently (and we cannot wait to get the hell out of this RED MAGA Republican State.)
I am proud as hell of these Democrat lawmakers for doing what they had to do.
Abbott is the ass there... He launched the gerrymandering aspect at the same time as the relief funding for flood victims.
