Why is no one investigating and writing more about Trump’s drug use as well.

Richard Keizer's avatar

The mainstream media doesn't care. They're only interested in Biden's age.

Larry's avatar

Heard that. Oh, and the price of eggs was a diversion too.

Which are through the roof, just btw

Trump is always sniffing due to damage to his nasal cavity after years of snorting adderall.

Some anti-psychotic medication would have been helpful.

Dianne Irwin's avatar

There was a report some time ago stating he had to have surgical repair on the upper sides of his nose which always appear swollen since.

Because there is ZERO evidence of it. —-Jason

Kim Cronan's avatar

I wouldn’t say there’s zero evidence of Dump’s drug use- seems like his incontinence being the result of long time amphetamine abuse is fairly well documented. There were also times during the first dumpster fire of a term when if he wasn’t high on something, I’ll eat my shoe. This go around it looks more like dementia & idiocy than anything else though.

I think the commenters calling this is old news are referring to Musk’s substance abuse, not the convenient timing of this story in the Times. I agree 100% it’s retaliation, & I’m sure the photo mentioned was taken with this very purpose in mind. But if he was “used” by the maga brigade, that sounds like karma & personally, I’ll save my sympathy for all the people who’ve been & will be hurt by his greed, arrogance & ignorance. So long Elmo, it hasn’t been real & it sure af hasn’t been fun

Barbara Faigen's avatar

Noel Cassler, who worked on The Apprentice, witnessed 47 snorting Adderall on set, so there is evidence.

Larry's avatar

Wasn't there a maga rep in a wheelchair talkin' about orgies and drug parties in Washington - Madison Cawthorn? And, there is that "pillow guy" using coke, crack and booze. Oh, Oh, RFK jr bragging about using and selling China white is a nice touch.

Kathy Kirkland's avatar

Not to mention the guy who worked on The Apprentice that says he witnessed drug use, incontinence, and Trump making Ivanka give him lap dances at age 16. Lots of anecdotal evidence but the official investigation into the White House pharmacy finding mass amounts of stimulants were being distributed like candy at a Mardi Gras parade seems compelling.

Kim Cronan's avatar

Wish I could access the article. Is Dr Feelgood in residence this time?

Dr. Catherine Al-Meten Meyers's avatar

If you’re referring to Trump, you’re wrong.

Larry's avatar

Evidence" how 2015. There was ZERO evidence that Barack Obama was born in Africa either, but, you know about that one.

Kim Cronan's avatar

It’s sad & incredibly messed up that “conservatives” have gone to such extreme lengths to enrich themselves & their wealthy keepers & to obtain power. Playing on their supporter’s prejudices, ignorance & lack of understanding, appealing to the lowest common denominator & people’s basest beliefs & fears to distort reality, spewing divisive rhetoric 24/7 & actively encouraging an “us v them” mentality between the cult & anyone who doesn’t agree with everything they do... idk where this all ends up, but it’s not likely to be any place remotely good

Drug use—ya think?? Seems like a common occurrence in this administration—excessive alcohol, ex-heroine addicts.

DebPer's avatar

What is the Times role here? It reports what Trump wants them to.

David Stewart's avatar

Confirmation that he's an addict. Ok. NO NEWS HERE. His lifestyle realities were already known to the world. MAGA will take it or leave it. The Restuvus factored it into his rap sheet long ago. He's still a criminal. He's still scum of the earth. He's still dangerous—perhaps even more so since he's working from the wings, well off-stage while blowing billions of taxpayer dollars disguised as rocket science. THEREIN LIE THE RISKS AND NEWS UNINVESTIGATED AND UNREPORTED.

Enter stage right: he's potentially got a group of suspicious South African "immigrants" bringing more questionable hopes of an unwashed brand of "freedom" to our shores. He needs to be put out of our misery, yet he's essentially in an incubator of his own design. Being under the microscope would suffice, for now, such that the deep risks he presents don't drop out of focus. Is anyone truly watching, documenting, and reporting?

Sarah Jones & Jason Easley's avatar

MAGA used a person who seems a drug problem. That is the big story. —Jason

David Stewart's avatar

The world have known for months, if not years. It was denied, but wasn't hidden. News re-run, at best.

David Stewart's avatar

Conceding - I must - as I find nothing prior that stands factually firm. I'm more disappointed in the vacuum of journalistic absense where we once could have relied upon on multiple reporters digging non-stop to produce gems of fact that leapfrogged to a scoop. Today, those drivers seem to have shrunk in number if not totally into darkness. What begs to be scooped up today is more offensive than ever. Many subjects of the past smelled no better, but there was cigarette smoke. And sweat. Surely both helped and smelled better than fear.

Musk takes drugs?! Well I am shocked! SHOCKED

Sarah Jones & Jason Easley's avatar

I think you should be “shocked” at how Trump seems to coming after Musk. ——Jason

Larry's avatar

LOL! That's a good one!

Chauncey Gardiner's avatar

Elon Musk is like Michael Jackson without the chimp, the glove, or the talent. He a drug addled weirdo on his way to an early grave; not early enough, but early.

Sheri Pasanen's avatar

Democrats should cover both Musk's and Trump's well known drug use. Federal prisons are full of drug addicts. No one should be above the law. But apparently some are.

Teresa D. Hawkes, Ph.D.'s avatar

Mr. Musk is doing many things law-abiding, caring people don't care for. Is he over-using drugs to keep going making move fast and break things decisions? We would have to supply proof. People who do things they know are against the law make it hard to get proof. The proof often comes after a destruction to their bodies due to the drugs being used. The deal is just this, though, if a person is a user, the effects on their body will show up. These effects always do. This is one of the key 'signs' that a person is a user. Mr. Musk behaves erratically enough that those of us who understand using and addiction can point to his behavior as a type of evidence, but really, in the end, Mr. Musk, though he has done immense damage in the business and government settings, has most likely done immense damage to himself as well. Time is a karma-ridden grasper of throats and health where using is concerned. In the end, it harms the user far more than it harms anyone else. We can clean up Mr. Musk's messes. He will have to live and die with them.

Bluesmurf's avatar

We can clean up the mess these idiots are making. We can rebuild, or build back better. But, pumping drugs into your system every day will eventually take you out one way or another. Ketamine is particularly dangerous - look what happened to Matthew Perry who was exceeding his prescription and his buds and employees enabling his extra use - it killed him. Musk is the richest man on the planet and I'm sure he is surrounded by people who would do anything for him, for money, whatever. Ketamine seems to be extra addictive, so you do the math. We'll see if he ruins his organs first or if ketamine ruins him.

Myra Evans's avatar

I won’t cry for him. He is rich enough to do whatever he wants, whether to himself or to others ( Americans). Look at Don Jr who always looks like he’s had a recent hit of cocaine. Red rimmed eyes and garbled speech. So great to be rich and drug addled.

Teresa D. Hawkes, Ph.D.'s avatar

Yep. We will be cleaning up messes as the years progress. Humans are actually good at that.

Lynne Weborg's avatar

There is some proof. Musk himself says he uses ( illicit )drugs, just not to what extent.

Teresa D. Hawkes, Ph.D.'s avatar

Extent of use is important to those of us familiar with the using and addiction peer-reviewed literature and the effects of using and addiction in the public and private domains. Proving use in the legal domain is fraught in all the ways legally proving anything is fraught among humans. In the end, I am more worried about what Mr. Musk is doing in the industry and government settings, because we will have to clean up his messes. Maybe it is due to using and addiction. That seems likely. Proving anything where the world's richest man is concerned will not be a simple matter.

CatChex's avatar

Even though he had acknowledge/confessed to using ketamine and other substances in many interviews and it has been documented by others beyond the NYT piece - that’s not ‘proof’?

Teresa D. Hawkes, Ph.D.'s avatar

That is a question for the legal profession and a court of law. Thanks for asking.

CatChex's avatar

So we’re out of luck, it seems as this crew doesn’t seem to believe that laws apply to them.

Teresa D. Hawkes, Ph.D.'s avatar

Both sides will meet in court. We will see how it all goes.

I think musk brain is completely fried with all the drugs he is taking. He can’t even talk coherently. Deport his butt back to South Africa. Leave the kid he loves so much in America with his mother. That will Finnish musk off. Freeze his assets and put back into economy.

This just in yesterday: Elon Musk exits White House, 'poaches' top Trump aide Stephen Miller's wife Katie for private sector role

So Stephen Miller, the dangerous nazi in the WH, wife has left with Elon Musk to become his personal assistant. Sounds fishy!

"She shared content on her X account from Musk’s interviews at SpaceX’s Starbase in Texas and a quote from him about how “DOGE is a way of life, like Buddhism.” Her new duties could include booking his media appearances for Tesla and SpaceX, one source confirmed."

This is no surprise. Musk has been a Ketamine addict for some time, and has reportedly taken "uppers" to keep up his energy level. He is an unselfaware, grandiose, angry, destructive person who takes absolutely no responsibility for his actions. I am amazed this is a surprise to anyone; however, we all know that MSM has paltry interest in reporting truth.

Bluesmurf's avatar

At some point his organs are going to rebel and become victim to all the stuff he has filtered through them - his heart, his liver, his brain. I guess he's already had problems with his bladder due to over use of Ketamine. Abuse of ketamine can cause kidney damage and renal failure. The guy is not heading down a very healthy road from all the news reports.
