I hope that Democrats in Congress reach out to Americans using a variety of media sources to get their message out about why they reject the CR. Trump and the GOP will quickly saturate the airwaves with their lies. With the cost of living skyrocketing, let folks know how important the costs of healthcare are for everyone. It's the one piece of a family budget that you cannot manipulate. No one knows when the next health crisis will hit their family.
Schumer is in as a Senator of NY until 2029, but his position as Minority Leader is not guaranteed until then. Jeffries will also face an election as either SOTH or House Democratic Leader in 1/27 or sooner. They both serve at the pleasure of their party.

The shut downs have never affected SS checks or pensions - those basically automated. But it does affect discretionary outlays.
