If there is no War on Women, why are there 55 rallies against the war on women today? Today is the day we make history by marching for women’s rights across the country because enough is enough!
Republicans say there is no war on women, even as they criminalize miscarriages and make birth control an issue of presumed sexual promiscuity instead of a health issue. They’ve ham-fisted our uteri, our dignity and our rights and it has to stop.

Unite Women details their mission,
“Help defend women’s rights and pursuit of equality. Join Americans all across the United States on April 28th, 2012, as we come together as one to tell members of Congress in Washington DC and legislators in all 50 states, “Enough is enough!” UniteWomen.org strongly supports diversity and welcomes men and women of all ages without regard to their race, color, creed, political affiliation, disability, religious or spiritual beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, education or income level, marital status, employment status, or immigrant status. Everyone is invited to join, plan, and rally as we unite to demand that every person be granted equal opportunities, equal rights, and equal representation.”
Protesters are chanting, “What do we want? Human rights! When do we want? Now!” and carrying signs reading, “Keep your laws away from my uterus!” “I Have a Heartbeat” and “There Are No Jobs in My Uterus!” Can you say Suffragette City?
And then there’s some women who aren’t afraid to own it all, courtesy of

In DC Former Governor Jennifer Granholm (D-MI) of Current TV gave a keynote speech in DC at 1PM, and video will be provided as soon as it’s available.
Here’s a picture from the NYC rally, posted by Triangle Coalition on Twitter:
WOW_NC tweeted, “One sign reads: Planned Parenthood has done more to prevent abortions than any church! I agree.”
Speaking of that “non-existent” war on women, aren’t you glad this guy didn’t make it into the White House in 2008? Doddering John McCain is here to tell us all that our rights aren’t being taken away- it’s all in our heads. There is NO war on women, in spite of that mountain of Republican legislation to the contrary. Gosh, you gotta love Republicans. They think we’re so dumb that they can just keep telling us how things are and we’ll buy it.
Watch here if you’re not already riled up enough to drag every single one of your friends — and your enemies too– to your polling place this November:
To find a rally near you, go here. If you have live streams from another city please add it in the comments. Amplify women’s voices by sending in your pictures and videos!
