Mitt Romney Falls Flat On His Birther Hypocrite Face While Trying To Scold Donald Trump

To See President Biden's 5 Best Jokes At The White House Correspondents Dinner visit The Daily.

Mitt Romney (R-Many Houses) resurfaced again today and it wasn’t to pose for a picture pumping gas like regular folk. No, given the vast emptiness of the moral center of the current Republican Party, Romney thought he’d give a shot at being it. The guy with morals who leads the party out of the pit of despair it’s finally fallen into, given its propensity for misrepresenting its platform in order to fool voters.

So Romney scolded Donald Trump for going birther on Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), an easy target because no one in Romney’s establishment circles likes him anyway and even the Koch brothers are disgusted with Trump, after all, he so clearly displays the glaring ignorance of the modern GOP, it’s vulgar and embarrassing in its nakedness.

Mitt Romney has never been known as someone with great moral courage- so why not test it out on this easy target. You know, like a person with great moral courage would do.

Gosh, if only Romney had always been so high-minded!

Remember the days when he was awkwardly endorsed by Donald Trump? Oh, yeah. Those were the days! Back when Republicans thought Donald Trump was their celebrity that wouldn’t talk to an empty chair on stage. A big name. A get.

Being endorsed by Trump former Governor Romney wears the same smug, stiff look that lost him the last election and Trump is as focused on looks as he always is. Snooze-fest.

It’s hard to pick a stand out moment – is it the moment when Donald Trump puts his arm around Ann Romney, who doesn’t look any more pleased than she does when anyone else does this, or the moment when Mitt Romney claimed Donald Trump knew how to create jobs and understood the economy. LOL — all the bankruptcies please!

But hark! All is not lost.

Remember when Mitt Romney, high priest of moral compasses, told a Michigan crowd that no one had asked to see his birth certificate? Hee haw, y’all. Maybe you had to be there, but it’s so funny when Mitt does it.

It took a lot of intellectual strength and moral courage to pander to the birthers in 2012.

“No one’s ever asked to see my birth certificate. They know that this is the place that we were born and raised.” Romney smirked to a knowing crowd who cheered.

Oh, gee whiz, the President had just been forced to dig up his long form birth certificate, so this wasn’t actually a funny. Not a moment of leadership.

It didn’t go well for Romney then and he had to explain that the issue was put to rest when Obama produced the long form birth certificate, ‘cuz you know, he wasn’t sure until then.

Pause.

So that’s where we last saw Moral Courage Mitt on Birthers.

And here he is chastising Donald Trump for going birther on Sen. Ted Cruz, another universally loathed creature who somehow managed to snag a place in line as a candidate for President on the Republican ticket. Certainly no Republicans like the Texas braggart with the swagger.

It’s hard to play the moral center and act like you are so above the sort of ugliness Donald Trump bathes in when your clawing ambition actually helped feed and nurture the hate against President Obama. Now that it’s being used on Republicans, though, Romney is not a fan. This is what we call real leadership – it’s okay to do to Democrats, but not okay to do Republicans.

Can we get a long form birth certificate from all the Republican players? Asking for a friend.
