Fox News’ Shepard Smith Tees Off On ‘Crazy’ Trump, Says America Deserves Answers

After Donald Trump spent a near-90-minute press conference demonstrating his insanity, Fox News anchor Shepard Smith teed off on the president, calling his behavior “absolutely crazy” and urging the administration to give the American people the answers they deserve.

Smith also went out of his way to defend CNN reporter Jim Acosta, a CNN reporter who’s become a frequent target for Trump.

Video:

Smith, the lone credible reporter at Fox News, said this:

Jim Acosta over there from CNN, an accomplished reporter, a guy I’ve never met, but a good reporter. I mean, treating him like he’s – I’m not even going to use the word … It’s crazy what we’re watching everyday. It’s absolutely crazy. [Trump] keeps repeating ridiculous throwaway lines that are not true at all and sort of avoiding this issue of Russia, as if we’re some ind of fools for asking the question. Really? Your opposition was hacked and the Russians were responsible for it and your people were on the phone with Russia on the same day it was happening, and we’re fools for asking the questions? No, sir. We are not fools for asking this question and we demand to know the answer to this quesiton. You owe this to the American people. Your supporters will support you either way. If your people were on the phone, what were they saying? We have a right to know. We absolutely do. And that you call us fake news and put us down like children for asking these questions on behalf of the American people is inconsequential. The people deserve that answer at very least.

Once again, Shepard Smith proved that Fox News is not totally devoid of fair and honest journalists.

His epic rant came after Trump held an unhinged press conference attacking the media, dismissing the Russia controversy, and repeating more lies about his non-existent electoral landslide against Hillary Clinton.

During Trump’s Q&A with reporters, NBC’s Peter Alexander also took on Trump’s tone toward the press, asking the president how he can accuse the media of being fake “when you provide information that’s not accurate.”

The president ignored the question.

While Trump’s mental state continues to deteriorate as his administration crumbles under the weight of incompetence and scandal, the press is (finally) no longer afraid to take on his lies.
