Trump’s Tough Talk Failing As North Korea Threatens Attack On The U.S. In New Video

Donald Trump’s strategy of tough talk and empty gestures toward North Korea is clearly not scaring anyone, as the country just released a new video threatening an attack on the U.S. if the new administration continues to show empty aggression.

In the propaganda video, the North Korean military is seen targeting American aircraft carriers and even the U.S. Capitol with missiles.

Video:

Among the many captions in the video, New York Magazine reports that one of them reads, “We will show you what a strong country that leads the world in nuclear and missile technology is capable of.”

Adding: “The final collapse will begin.”

While the video is likely an empty threat from North Korea – a country that can barely get their missiles off the ground, much less reach the U.S. – it’s just the latest proof of how just how much tensions have worsened since Trump was elected president.

While much of that is likely due to the ruthless and unhinged dictator running the show in North Korea, the U.S. president’s strategy in the region clearly isn’t working.

In one of his attempts to flex America’s muscle, the president claimed a U.S. naval fleet was headed for the Korean Peninsula, just to find out that not only wasn’t that the case but the White House also lost track of said fleet for five days – an international embarrassment, particularly at a time when the United States is trying to project strength and stability.

More recently, the U.S. sent the USS Michigan to a South Korean port, another attempt by Trump to show American might while escalating tension in the region.

The White House even sent Vice President Mike Pence to the region to stare over the North Korean border while wearing a cool leather jacket –not a very intimidating sight.

At the end of the day, none of these actions appear to be cooling down the situation in North Korea; in fact, it’s clear that the Trump is only making matters worse and further emboldening Kim Jong-un.

There is more to foreign policy than showing off America’s ships. Hopefully, the commander-in-chief will soon realize that.
