Donald Trump took time out of his vacation on Thursday to continue peddling conspiracy theories, this time casting doubt on climate change because of the recent stretch of cold weather in the eastern United States.
In a jaw-dropping tweet, the president said, “Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming” to battle winter temperatures.
Trump’s ignorance on this subject is obvious, but it’s neither new nor is it surprising.

After all, this is a president who has spent his first year in office implementing climate policies that have set the country back decades and embarrassed the U.S. on the world stage – from pulling out of the Paris climate agreement to opening up sacred land for drilling to allowing coal companies to dump their sludge into American waterways, among many other things.
In fact, National Geographic has a running list of all the steps Trump has taken to dramatically change America’s environmental policies – all of them quite troubling.
But, again, this is nothing new. Trump has long been a climate change denier, once even claiming that global warming is a hoax created by the Chinese.

It’s bad enough that the President of the United States doesn’t have the ability to comprehend scientific evidence and implement policies accordingly. It’s even worse that none of the nonsense he spewed on Thursday night is all that surprising.
