Democratic Sen. Cory Booker is unfazed by Republican attempts to bully him into being steamrolled during the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation process.

In an interview with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes, Booker called the Republican Senate rules a “sham” and said he’s not worried about being expelled from Congress.
Instead, the New Jersey senator said he is going to keep releasing documents or all Americans to see – even if that means violating GOP rules.

“That is why I am releasing these things regardless of what the consequences are,” Sen. Booker told Chris Hayes. “I believe strongly that because they are sham rules, they are not going to move to oust me from the Senate.”
The same party that denied Barack Obama’s Supreme Court nominee a simple hearing has no business enforcing sham rules in order to rush their pick through Congress.
Sen. Booker’s reaffirmed commitment to defy Republicans comes after a raucous third day of Kavanaugh Senate hearings when the Democratic senator released documents, even after the GOP threatened to throw him out of Congress if he did.
As of Thursday night, though, Booker is undeterred. Whether it’s at the public hearings or the upcoming private questioning, the New Jersey senator isn’t going to let Republicans steamroll him and his fellow Democrats.
As PoliticusUSA’s Jason Easley wrote earlier, “Cory Booker put country first, and he doesn’t care what it may cost him in the end.”
