Newly announced Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke made quick work of Donald Trump on Thursday after the childish president criticized his – wait for it – hand movements.

At a campaign stop in Iowa, it took the former Texas congressman less than 15 seconds to dispose of Trump.
“I have nothing to say to that,” O’Rourke said as he laughed off Trump’s grade school attack and said the country is ready to move beyond this president’s “smallness.”
O’Rourke added, “I think people want us to rise above the pettiness, the smallness — they want us to be big, bold, ambitious for this country. That’s what I’m focused on and that’s what I see here today in Burlington.”
The Democratic candidate’s non-response response to Trump’s pettiness came after the president took a shot at the Democratic candidate earlier in the day.
“I’ve never seen so much hand movement,” the president said. “I said, ‘Is he crazy or is that just the way he acts?'”
Of course, Trump is the last person on the face of the planet who should criticize anyone else for having “hand issues.”
MSNBC’s Chris Hayes laid out Trump’s unusual fixation and clear insecurities when it comes to his own hands:
After more than two years of Donald Trump running the country, the American people have grown tired of his stale routine of acting like a playground bully.
The president’s shtick may have had some entertainment value when he first hit the campaign trail in 2015, but people are sick of having a third-grader in the White House. They’re over a political debate driven by the president’s juvenile attacks and nicknames.
Beto O’Rourke’s response to Trump – first laughing and then pivoting away from the president’s petty politics – is a smart strategy.
After all, dismissing Donald Trump as you would a child who doesn’t know any better is the surest way to drive him insane.
