House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) unloaded on Republicans after they called for him to resign as chairman of the committee.
After Trump accused him of a crime, and Republicans tried to pressure him to step down from the committee, Schiff said:

My colleagues may think it’s ok that the Russians offered dirt on the Democratic candidate for president in part of what was described as the Russian government’s effort to help the Trump campaign. You might think that’s ok. My colleagues might think that it’s ok that when that was offered to the son of the president who had a pivotal role in the campaign that the president’s son did not call the FBI. He did not adamantly refuse that foreign help. No, instead, that son said that he would love the help of the Russians.

You might think it’s ok that he took that meeting. You might think it’s ok that Paul Manafort the campaign chair someone with great experience to run that campaign also took that meeting. You might think it’s ok that the president’s son in law also took that meeting. You might think it’s ok that they concealed it from the public. You might think it’s ok that their only disappointment after that meeting was that the dirt they received on Hillary Clinton wasn’t better. You might think that’s ok. You might think it’s ok that when it was discovered a year later, they lied about that meeting and said it was about adoptions. You might think it’s ok that the president is reported to have helped to dictate that that lie.

You might think that’s OK. I don’t. I think it’s unethical. I think it’s unpatriotic. I think it’s corrupt and evidence of collusion.

“I have always said that the question of whether this amounts to conspiracy is another matter. But I do not think that conduct, criminal or not, is OK. And the day we do think that’s OK is the day we will look back and say that is the day America lost its way.

Trump and the Republicans are terrified of Adam Schiff

Trump and the GOP are terrified of Adam Schiff because unlike Robert Mueller, he won’t have a narrow mandate, and his findings won’t be suppressed filtered or edited by the DOJ and White House.

The effort to remove Adam Schiff isn’t coming from a position of strength, but fear. There are a reported 700 pages of Mueller collected evidence waiting to come to Adam Schiff‘s hands, and the former prosecutor isn’t going to be bullied or detoured by scared potential criminals and their enablers who are trying to hide the truth and escape justice.
