FEC Hits Trump With 233 Pages Of Prohibited Contributions

Trump is doing his best Nixon slush fund impression as the FEC has hit the president with 233 pages of campaign contributions that are prohibited, excessive, and impermissible.

The FEC notified Trump that, “An individual or a political committee other than an authorized committee or qualified multi-candidate committee may not make a contribution(s) to a candidate for federal office in excess of $2,800 per election. An authorized committee may not make a contribution(s) to a candidate for federal office in excess of $2,000 per election. A qualified multi-candidate committee and all affiliated committees may not make a contribution(s) to a candidate for federal office in excess of $5,000 per election. The term “contribution” includes any gift, subscription, loan, advance, or deposit of money or anything of value made by any person for the purpose of influencing any election for federal office. (52 U.S.C. § 30116(a) and (f) (formerly 2 U.S.C. § 441a(a) and (f)); 11 CFR § 110.1(b), (e) and (k)).

People are giving over the individual legal limit to Trump, and the Trump campaign seems to be doing nothing to deter them.

Trump views campaign contributions as “his” money, and one of the things that Republicans are worried about for 2020 is that Trump will suck up all of the cash and leave Republicans in Congress, especially House Republicans underfunded, and hung out to dry. In the run-up to the 2018 election, House Republicans couldn’t raise cash. Trump did little to help them, and the blue wave washed away their majority.

There has been a tsunami of dirty money surrounding Trump as a candidate and as president.

Trump has the criminal qualities of Nixon, plus a whiff of treason that makes everything much worse.
