Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci continued to wage war on Donald Trump on Saturday, calling his former boss a “lunatic” and saying his recent behavior shows he’s in the midst of a mental collapse.

In an interview with MSNBC’s Joy Reid, Scaramucci said,”We have a lunatic, a full-blown lunatic, in the White House that is literally having a nervous breakdown.”
“We have to act,” he added.

Scaramucci said:
It doesn’t really matter right now in terms of what our political differences are. We have a lunatic, a full-blown lunatic, in the White House that is literally having a nervous breakdown before our eyes. And so we have to act.
Earlier in Scaramucci’s discussion with Joy Reid, he explained that Donald Trump isn’t just a domestic problem. His unstable behavior is turning into an international crisis that must be addressed.
“We have to come together now because this is a serious national and international crisis,” the former White House communications director said. “We can’t have somebody running the free world, representing us at the G7 and organizing the government, who is acting like this.”
Scaramucci said even Republicans appear to be recognizing that the president is completely off his rocker and will soon have no choice but to confront him.
“This is a descent into madness,” Scaramucci said. “He’s melting down. [Republicans] are trying to figure out if they can cover it up or they have to clean it up. And now we’re moving into clean-up mode.”
Many people have appropriately criticized Scaramucci for being so late to call out Trump’s instability – something most American people recognized well before he was president.
But being late is better than never showing up at all, and Republicans would be smart to follow Scaramucci’s lead before it’s too late.
