Former Texas Governor and current Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry issued a “disappointed” statement on the Supreme Court’s decision to nullify the statute he signed into law in Texas as they ruled that marriage equality is the rule of the nation now.
“I am disappointed the Supreme Court today chose to change the centuries old definition of marriage as between one man and one woman,” Governor Perry said in a statement. “I’m a firm believer in traditional marriage, and I also believe the 10th Amendment leaves it to each state to decide this issue.”
Perry vowed that if he were president we would not have to worry about progress or equal rights, because he firmly believes in letting states discriminate against people’s rights.

“I fundamentally disagree with the court rewriting the law and assaulting the 10th Amendment.”
Perry pulled the founding fathers card for his side, “Our founding fathers did not intend for the judicial branch to legislate from the bench, and as president, I would appoint strict Constitutional conservatives who will apply the law as written.”
So now you know what kind of country we’d have under Rick Perry.
