Joe Biden Is Soundly Beating Trump In His Own Poll

Trump’s own internal polling shows former vice president Joe Biden beating him across the country, and is fueling his 2020 panic.

Trump is losing to Biden even in his own polling

According to The New York Times:

It is just the sort of fight Mr. Biden has been spoiling for: a head-to-head contest with the incumbent on an issue that elevates Mr. Biden into a statesmanlike role, well above the Democratic primary fray and all the sniping candidates and liberal litmus tests therein.

For Mr. Trump’s advisers, it was one more example of the president’s inability to resist offering what amounts to an in-kind contribution to a Democrat who, according to their own polling, is positioned to soundly defeat them next year.

Trump is trying to run against Biden like he is Hillary Clinton

Trump has convinced himself that Joe Biden is the same as Hillary Clinton in a similar way that the president has convinced himself that his campaign was spied on, it wasn’t, and China is paying tariffs, which they do not.

Donald Trump is stuck in 2016. As president, he continually reminds America and relives his previous campaign in his speeches and appearances. The president thinks that he can run the 2016 campaign over again against Joe Biden and win.

In some ways, Trump has the same problem as Bernie Sanders. The country has changed since 2016, but both Sanders and Trump are running the same campaigns that they ran years ago. Sanders is slumping in the polls, and Trump is in position to lose to Biden.

Joe Biden isn’t Hillary Clinton. He doesn’t come pre-baked with decades of negative media coverage. Biden is better at personally connecting to voters than Clinton. Hillary Clinton did win the popular vote in a presidential election. However, Joe Biden is not the same as Clinton, and Trump will be making a fatal mistake if he treats them both as the same.

In 2020 Trump is the establishment and status quo, and the Democratic nominee will be representative of change.
