House Oversight Launches Deep Investigation Into Pence’s Stay At Trump’s Irish Club

The House Oversight Committee wants information from the White House, Secret Service, the Vice President, and the Trump Organization about Pence’s out of the way stay at taxpayer expense at Trump’s failing club in Ireland.

Here is the letter that Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) wrote to the Secret Service:

The letter states in part, “The White House has not made public how much the Vice President’s trip cost the American taxpayers—or benefited the Trump Organization—but based on previous investigations by the Government Accountability Office, the bill could be significant. President Trump stayed at his property in Ireland in June, which cost the American people an estimated $3.6 million.”

Chairman Cummings said, “The Committee does not believe that U.S. taxpayer funds should be used to personally enrich President Trump, his family, and his companies.”

The wise thing for all parties involved would be to turn over the documents and get this investigation over with before the 2020 election, but the words Trump and wise are never used in the same sentence. Trump is going to fight the investigation, which will make it drag into the 2020 election, which is going to be perfect for Democrats. The information is going to come out, but this administration is incapable of strategic thinking, so Trump is going to shoot himself in the foot, and give Democrats another issue to use against him in 2020.

Trump isn’t “winning” by delaying these investigations. He is digging his own political grave.
