Ex-GOP Rep Says Corey Lewandowski Just Gave Dems The First Article Of Impeachment Against Trump

While Corey Lewandowski tried to turn Tuesday’s hearing into a political circus – with the help of the Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee – a former GOP lawmaker says what he really did was give Democrats the first article of impeachment against Donald Trump.

During a discussion with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, former Republican Rep. David Jolly said Lewandowski outed himself as a liar, but he also gave the committee some major ammunition in their ongoing impeachment investigation.

“Lewandowski gave House Judiciary Committee what they needed today for an article of impeachment against the president of the United States for obstruction of justice,” Jolly said.

Chris, an hour after … announcing his new Hampshire Senate bid, he announces to the world that he’s a liar. He confirmed for the world today, Corey Lewandowski did, that he lies to the American people and he’s asking to be a part of the United States Senate. That works in Trump’s GOP but I think New Hampshire Republicans are smarter than that. What he also provided, though, Chris, was confirmation today clearly amidst all the circus … that the president of the United States instructed him to commit obstruction of justice. This is one of those hearings where the transcript, the written transcript, will be much more damning than some of the things Lewandowski actually said. Lewandowski gave House Judiciary Committee what they needed today for an article of impeachment against the president of the United States for obstruction of justice. And what he also did, and Nadler kept the hearing open subject to the call of the chair, Lewandowski impugned himself. In that written transcript, we will see he impugned his word to Mueller and the committee, and we saw that through the staff counsel’s questioning at the end of the day.

Lewandowski added fuel to the impeachment fire

Donald Trump was raving about Lewandowski’s performance earlier on Tuesday, but as the hearing went on, the president’s former campaign manager began to implode little by little.

By the end of the chaotic testimony, Lewandowski demonstrated that he is nothing but another Trump shill who will do anything – even obstruct justice – to please his former boss.

As a result, not only are Democrats on the verge of holding Lewandowski in contempt, but they have fresh ammunition in their ongoing impeachment investigation.
