Trump threw a Sunday fit and claimed that he is being denied “due process” because Adam Schiff won’t let his conspiracy theory witnesses testify.
Trump tweeted:
Rep. Schiff made it clear after ranking member Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) submitted a witness list for the impeachment hearings that included Hunter Biden, the whistleblower, and Fusion GPS employees that he was not going to allow the impeachment process to be hijacked and turned into an investigation of the Bidens.
Schiff said, “This inquiry is not, and will not serve, however, as a vehicle to undertake the same sham investigations into the Bidens or 2016 that the President pressed Ukraine to conduct for his personal political benefit, or to facilitate the President’s effort to threaten, intimidate, and retaliate against the whistleblower who courageously raised the initial alarm.”
It is clear that the Nunes witness list came from Trump and the White House. Trump’s plan was to use the impeachment hearings to inject his bogus Biden and Ukraine conspiracy theories into the national conversation, but House Intelligence Committee Chairman Schiff stopped the president dead in his tracks, so all that is left for Trump to do is pout and stomp his feet about how “unfair” it is that he doesn’t have rights that he is not entitled to during the impeachment investigation.
