Kamala Harris Asks Twitter To Suspend Trump’s Account

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) has formally requested that Twitter suspend Donald Trump’s account over his call for a civil war.

Via a statement from the Harris campaign provided to PolitcusUSA, “In the letter, she writes that Twitter’s user agreement “states that the platform considers abusive behavior as ‘an attempt to harass, intimidate, or silence someone else’s voice’ and that it prohibits ‘the glorification of violence,’” and points to recent Trump tweets in which he targets and harasses the whistleblower, any individual who may have shared information with the whistleblower, and Congressman Adam Schiff, as well as one tweet in which Trump raised the specter of a civil war should he be impeached.”

The letter continues, “These tweets represent a clear intent to baselessly discredit the whistleblower and officials in our government who are following the proper channels to report allegations of presidential impropriety,” she says. “When this kind of abuse is being spewed from the most powerful office in the United States, the stakes are too high to do nothing.”

Twitter will never have the guts to suspend Trump’s account. They would not be able to take the heat if they tried to enforce the terms of service on the President On The United States. Twitter, just like the corporate media, long ago sold itself out to Donald Trump. A president should not be using a private social media platform as his or her primary messaging mechanism with the American people.

Sen. Harris is one hundred percent correct. Trump is violating Twitter’s own TOS on a nearly daily basis. His account should be suspended, but more importantly, his personal account should not be allowed to exist. Trump is conducting government business on a non-government account. After Trump is out of office, one of the rules that the country must address for future presidents is the use of private social media accounts.

Trump’s Twitter fiasco can never be allowed to happen to the American people again.
