Biden said in a statement provided to PoliticusUSA, “We are running out of words to condemn the inhumanity of this administration. An administration that pulls children from the arms of their parents and stalks families in their neighborhoods will now deport children who are in life-saving treatment for dire conditions like cancer. There is no possible national security justification for further traumatizing sick kids at their most vulnerable. In fact, like all bullies, Trump is purposefully targeting the little guys—but I would have thought even he would understand that kids with cancer and cystic fibrosis were off-limits. As so many others have said, cruelty is their point. It is their only point, and it’s all they have to run on: fear, anger, division, and cruelty. We must restore the soul of our nation.â€

The Trump administration has hatched a plan to deport non-citizen children with life-threatening illnesses within 30 days. The administration was so arrogant about their plan that they didn’t bother to come up with an adequate cover story for why they were deporting sick children who are in the middle of medical treatment that could save their lives. It is not an exaggeration to say that some off these children will die if they are deported.

The former vice president was correct there is no national security reason for deporting these kids. It is cruelty for the sake of cruelty. Trump is a bully who is targeting sick kids and parents who are trying to save the life of their child. There is no legitimate reason for these kids to be deported. Trump is running a terror campaign, and nothing is off-limits when it comes to terrorizing immigrants in the United States.

Every single Democratic presidential candidate needs to be speaking out against this unfathomable cruelty.
