As Trump Melts Down In The Corner, A Republican Senator Tries To Claim That Everything Is Fine

As Trump is melting down over the new book about his administration, Republican Sen. James Lankford from Oklahoma claimed that the White House is focused and all is well.

Lankford said, “I was in the white house for an hour and a half yesterday. The only comment that came out about the book entirely was a press person that made a question to the president during the pool time. Otherwise it just didn’t come up, so if it’s consumed on it, I didn’t see it yesterday.”

The hilarity continued as Sen. Lankford claimed that Trump was focused on the immigration issue that they were discussing. The Senator’s answer did provide some insight into how desperate Republicans are to knock down the perception that Trump is an unfocused imbecile who doesn’t know or care to know anything about the issues.

It is almost like Republicans who are trying to defend Trump don’t know that the rest of us can see his Twitter account. We know that Trump is consumed with the book because he can’t stop tweeting about it. No one is buying the fairy tale of Donald Trump as a super focused president who is committed to getting answers to the issues.

Republicans aren’t dealing with reality, and just like Sen. Lankford, they are going to keep telling themselves that everything is fine until they lose the House and possibly the Senate in November.
