I still don’t understand how advocating for the Olympics has anything to do with Obama’s political prowess…

Honestly, who do you think you are fooling? After the eight years we just went through, do you expect us to believe liberals would not have been dancing in the streets if this had happened to Bush? The left practically threw a gala ball when the “reporter” in Iraq hurled a shoe at Bush. Heck, a whole host of liberal sites even cheered the death of Tony Snow. After the eight years of non-stop hatred and vitriol hurled at Bush, getting mad at people who point out Obama’s humiliating failure on the world stage is the pinnacle of hypocrisy and almost rises to the level of parody.

It’s typically narrow minded for a defender of the right to think he’s entitiled to pay back for what he considers eight years of non stop denigration of Bush . But in this case it’s not a personal defeat for Obama, but a loss for the USA, herself. Our country, get it? Yours and mine.

However, if the IOC voted against the USA because it was the USA, then no doubt the lingering international resentment for G. Bush would have been a strong motivator. But I think the IOC voted FOR a country from South America, for the first time sending the Games to that continent.

Chicago would have never got the Olympics due to the fact the USA has had them so often however Rio should have been out in round one. Rio lacks all qualifications for the Olympics according to the IOC standards, the EU wants an investigation on why Rio got the 2012 Olympics more brides I’m betting .

As a New Yorker, I can say that Chicago had a better bid with more support from their citizens than we did for the 2012 Olympics. Yet, nobody was talking trash about the people or city of New York after we lost. The only people who cheered when New York lost were New Yorkers who didn’t want the Olympics in the first place. I don’t mind when Beck trashes Obama but it really gets me upset when he start trashing Chicago itself. That’s an insult to the people of Chicago.

By the way, I still think Beck looks like a grown up version of Ralphie from “A Christmas Story.” Someday he is going to shoot his eye out.
