In response to being invited to the White House for a bipartisan meeting on Thursday with President Bush, the presidential campaign of Barack Obama put out a statement promising to do whatever is necessary in order to come up with a final solution to the crisis.
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama turned the tables on John McCain’s call to delay the debate on Friday by saying that people need to hear from their leaders right now, and called for Friday’s debate to go on as scheduled.

In a statement, John McCain has suspended his presidential campaign in order to come back to Washington and work on the federal bailout bill. McCain called for a postponement of Friday’s debate and called on Obama to do the same.
