David Gregory relentlessly grilled Sen. Ted Cruz on his lack of results on getting rid of the ACA.

Transcript:

GREGORY: Here’s the thing Senator. You make this argument as if there’s no broader context here. Obama has been legislated. It has been adjudicated, and it has been tested through the political system. And so let’s go through that, we had an election, where I heard the standard bearer for the Republican Party, Mitt Romney, say Obamacare should be repealed. All the Republicans already voted against this when it was ultimately passed. The Supreme Court upheld it. And then this summer, you and your colleagues said let’s have a strategy here of defunding Obamacare, and you had people sign a letter and they joined you in that fight. Well, here you are now. You don’t even have the same number of folks who signed the letter who voted with you in this effort. There are not protests in the streets arguing to do away with this law in the way that you’d like. You get 56% in one poll this week, The New York Times poll, that said let’s uphold the law. Where have you moved anything?

CRUZ: Ok look, the facts are becoming more and more clear that Obamcare isn’t working. Everyday that’s becoming more clear. There’s a reason why the unions are jumping ship. One union after another saying let me out. There’s a reason why James Hoffa the president of the Teamsters said that he was writing on behalf of millions of working men and women. and he used millions, not hundreds, not thousands, and he said Obamacare is destroying their healthcare. Destroying is his word. Now why is that Harry Reid and the Senate Democrats are not willing to listen to the millions of working men and women?

GREGORY: Wait a second. You are a terrific lawyer. You’re making an argument. I asked you a specific question based on the facts on the ground. You’ve made all these arguments. My goodness, you spoke for 21 hours to make these arguments. You haven’t moved anyone.

CRUZ: Well look, the America people overwhelmingly reject Obamacare. They understand it’s not working. The only people who aren’t listening to the argument are the career politicians in Washington. Harry Reid wants to use brute political force, and the great thing about the Constitution is that it creates a system of checks and balances, and each branch has the ability to check the other…

The exchange above is how the whole interview went. Gregory kept pushing Cruz, by using the facts to demonstrate that the Texas Senator has lost support for defunding Obamacare over the last few months. We have been very critical of David Gregory’s lazy let his guests get away with anything while relying on Republican talking points style of moderating Meet The Press. Today, Gregory showed up and acted like a real live journalist. He had done his research. He had talked to health care experts and hospital administrators about the ACA.

As for Cruz, he demonstrated again that he has nothing. You know, Cruz is at rock bottom when the usually half asleep David Gregory is calling him out. David Gregory is a big part of the DC media establishment that happily follows along with the Republican Party’s talking points. His handling of this interview was a sign of how deep the contempt within the GOP is for Cruz. Gregory mortally wounded Cruz’s image by attacking his lack of results. The Meet The Press interview was even worse for Cruz than last week’s disastrous Fox News Sunday interview. Gregory destroyed the myth that Cruz is leading a movement. There is no movement. Sen. Cruz is losing support, and David Gregory of all people outed the emperor as wearing no clothes.
