Trump despising the movement is akin to a declaration of war
By telling people privately that he despises the movement, Trump is telling women that they need tolerate abuse and shut up. It is a declaration of war against those who speak out and tell their stories of abuse. Donald Trump is setting a cultural tone of defending abusers. He thought Rob Porter was guilty, but he still defended him publicly because he is trying to silence women.
Trump only thinks about what is best for big business
Trump’s statements provide insight into how he views the country. This president doesn’t care about people. He isn’t concerned with the human beings that he is supposed to be working for. Trump is only concerned with business, specifically, big business. Trump doesn’t care that CEOs can be sued due to the #MeToo movement because men still dominate the ranks of the world’s biggest corporations.
