Mueller Shared Some Questions With Trump Who Reacted The Only Way You’d Expect

For Team Trump, the hits just keep on coming!

For anyone who was looking for a reason for Trump’s Twitter meltdown that began Saturday and raged on today, special counsel Robert Mueller has what you’re looking for: a list of interview questions special counsel sent to The Donald as part of ongoing negotiations over the terms of said interview.

We already knew that Trump’s lawyers somehow feel they have a legal leg to stand on when it comes to negotiating terms for the Trump interview.  The very idea is utterly ludicrous, because subpoena power… and because there’s likely not much Trump can offer that Mueller doesn’t already know. Trump’s lawyers’ primary concern is that should he sit down for an interview with Mueller’s dream team of prosecutors, he’ll dive head-first into what they’ve colorfully dubbed “a perjury trap.”

Yeah, my mom has a colorful term for that too: “lying.”

Axios tells us that Mueller’s questions focus mostly on events that have occurred since the election, which strongly suggests that his team is building a case for obstruction of justice. I think Lester Holt might respond to that news with “Doesn’t anyone watch my NBC interviews?”

Trump’s lawyers –The Washington Post reports- have since offered some documents to Mueller in the desperate hope that they’ll satisfy his curiosity, and limit the scope of the questions he’ll be asking. Sure. Why not? They might as well hope Mueller tires of the investigation, resigns, and sends each of them a puppy as a farewell gift.

Donald Trump’s past is catching up to him, and now his present is set to swallow him whole.
