According to Coulter, Palin Hatred Comes from Jealous Liberal Women

Ann Coulter was on FNC’s Hannity last night where she defended Sarah Palin decision to resign as Alaska governor by saying, “A lot of the hatred, probably a majority of the hatred is coming from liberal women in New York who have overheard their boyfriends say well gotta admit she is good looking.” According to Coulter, Palin’s critics are jealous of her looks.

Here is the video courtesy of Media Matters:

Coulter said, “Did anybody criticize Arlen Specter of Jim Jeffords for letting down the citizens of their states for switching parties withdrawing? No, it is a totally different standard for Sarah Palin. It is no surprise that the feminist movement came out of the left because liberal men are rabid sexists. Though I must say, I think a lot of the hatred, probably a majority of the hatred is coming from liberal women in New York who have overheard their boyfriends say well gotta admit she is good looking.”

The one key point that Coulter and Hannity both neglect to mention is that Palin quit her job without having another one lined up. Arlen Specter and Jim Jeffords did not leave the Senate. Barack Obama didn’t leave the people of Illinois high and dry. The Obama appointees that Hannity mentioned left their jobs after they had another position lined up. Just because Palin is running for president, there is no guarantee that she will be president.

The criticism of Palin doesn’t just come from liberal women in New York who are jealous of Palin’s looks. I know that this is hard for people like Coulter and Hannity to fathom, but women are not irrational, unintelligent creatures. Many women who dislike Palin base their distaste on the image she projects, her political positions, and her lack of intellect.

Republicans don’t seem to understand that women are not obligated to support Sarah Palin because they share a gender with her. Women have brains too, and decide who they politically support based on reasoning other than physical appearance. I have never heard a critic of Palin base their criticism on her looks.

I do find it funny though, that some on the right, like Hannity, are scrambling to defend quitting as a good thing. There is nothing good about quitting, just as there is nothing sexist about the criticism of Palin for doing so.
