Fox News Host Apologizes for His Stupidity Again, After First Apology Didn’t Fool Anyone

Eric Bolling has been forced to apologize again, after his first apology for being a ridiculous rage-o-phile with decades stale jokes didn’t go over well.

Fox News’ Eric Bolling was perfectly pleased with himself after his “boobs on the ground” quip aimed at the first female AEU pilot, Major Marium Al Mansouri, who bombed ISIS days ago. He and the locker room pals who make up Fox News were in their glory as they made fun of Major Al Mansouri, with Greg Gutfield starting the stupid fest off with, “The problem is, after she bombed it she couldn’t park it.”

The 1950s called and they want their jokes back, Fox.

While the boys and their fan club were LOL-ing over that bit of stale bread, Bolling must have felt left out so he piled on, calling the pilot “boobs on the ground.”

Only two kinds of men tell these sorts of jokes in public, let alone on national TV: Older gentlemen who don’t know any better and really angry social rejects who mask their inadequacy issues with misogyny. Bolling only talks like he’s a century old and no one is going to accuse him of being a gentleman.

Watch the September 24 edition of Fox News’ The Five via Media Matters:

All of this went down whilst Fox was in high poutrage mode over President Obama’s alleged disrespect of the troops due to a latte salute, because in conservative value systems, actions mean nothing and gestures are everything. So it doesn’t matter that President Obama and his administration have been more engaged with the troops than previous administrations or have asked for — and been denied by Republicans — appropriate funding for the VA. Nope. What matters is what was in his hand on one day.

Yesterday, Bolling petulantly apologized, per Media Matters:

Bolling angrily announced that he had gotten “The look” when he got home so now he was “making it clear to all of you” that he was sorry. He delivered this with all of the teenage petulance you’re accustomed to seeing from Republicans in the House of Representatives. Surprisingly this bit of charm fooled no one.

Yep. No one bought that apology, least of all his female co-host who had to add for him something the network clearly directed him to impart, “And you love women and have respect for them.” Uh-huh.

So Friday, after likely being dragged in front of reality by his boss who only wants the Archie Bunker clown show to go so far, Bolling apologized again. If at first you don’t succeed, try try try again.

Here’s the latest apology via Media Matters:

Transcript from Media Matters:

BOLLING: A personal comment before we go to break. Earlier this week I made a comment that was wholly inappropriate, and I apologize for it. The comment became during K. G.’s One More Thing honoring UAE bomber pilot Major Miriam al-Mansouri, who bombed ISIS. My remark was not intended to be disparaging of her, but that’s how it was taken. I should have known better and used better judgment.

Yesterday I made an apology on this show, but it was inadequate. Fox News has received letters from viewers including from women in the military, and I have taken them to heart. Therefore, let me speak clearly and sincerely. I’m sorry for what I said, I believe that Major al-Mansouri is a hero, she’s courageous, brave, and she deserves our praise, not inappropriate jokes. I appreciate that she is fighting the extreme radicals that threaten all of us. She has my admiration and my very, very sincere gratitude.

It’s unclear how “boobs on the ground” hee-hee tee-hee was “not intended to be disparaging of her.” Does Bolling think that’s a compliment? Let’s test drive that one: “Eric Bolling searched for his balls today and came up empty after humiliating himself numerous times on national TV, outing himself as a try-hard fool with no sense at all. Masculinity: Zero.” <--- Not meant to be disparaging. It seems harsh, but if he's good with it, I'm okay with it too. Sure, it's Fox "News" and this is what we expect. But it isn't the blatant misogyny that's so troubling. It's the petulant pleasure the puppets get from delivering what they perceive to be as "blows" to women. The sniggering on day one was nothing but contempt, and there is no apology that covers contempt. Bolling is a scourge even on Fox News. He is a troubled presence on a network known for lying. Boobs on the ground? On behalf of the women of America, no thanks Eric. We'll take a real man or woman any day over a foolish blowhard whose feelings of inadequacy have been sadly confirmed at his own hand. 1. Yet ESPN’s Bill Simmons gets suspended 3 weeks for offending the NFL and ESPN (ABC/Disney). This sure shows where Faux Snooze and much of corporate America’s true feelings toward women lie.

  2. notice that there was no mention of RESPECT in any of his apologies… where the heck is aretha when you need her???

  3. I swear, I hate these bastards!!!! If this was any other network, Bolling would be filing for unemployment benefits, but the home-z folks at fox with all there patriotic christian bullshit would not consider such a thing. I really hope that the people that watch these idiots, take a good look at what there influence has done to our country. I am a strong liberal, but our Conservative friends deserve better than listening to these assholes on the Fox news network.

  4. I thought the second ‘apology’ was
even worse than the first. It was
obvious the first one was insincere
but this one was even more so. He was
clearly reading thru a script that he
couldn’t finish fast enough. IF he were
truly sorry he would have paused, looked
directly into the camera and spoke to
her. Instead, he looked like a spoiled,
petulant child, forced to say something
his mommy made him say. Maybe if he had
reached back and grabbed all the emotion
he showed about the “latte salute’ it
would have come off alot better!!!

  5. He’s a jackass, he can apologize until he’s blue in the face. What he said the first time fits his personality. He’s abrasive and ignorant and that’s why Fox likes him.

  6. Bolling meant every word he said about Major Mariam Al Mansouri. If he didn’t, he would have never said it. He’s only back-peddling because the heat is on him. He has a habit of showing his misogyny, and he and Ailes know it and so does Uncle Rupie. The entire cast of talking heads and execs at Fox are thoroughly rotten individuals. Ailes and Murdoch built the network, and runs it, based on lies, false attacks, and fake outrage, among other odious things. They found a media niche of like-minded people and feed them hate and paranoia 24/7/365. Fox is a toxic force in our society. Its business model has created (and profited from) more divisions among our populace than anyone in the history of the U.S. After reading Bolling’s first apology, I immediately rejected it. I think that one who has to be shamed into being contrite about something has no internal monitor that tells them when it’s inappropriate to say certain things. An apology from them has no real value.

  7. I wonder how the arab sheik feels about this comment? Maybe he can either get a real apology or fire this asshole.

  8. He’s married and women continue to work with him.

I can’t find any military records for this Eric Bolling. Is he another coward like blowheart Ted Nugent?

  9. “My remark was not intended to be disparaging of her…”
Yes. Yes, it was. Boobs on the ground. She’s a woman. Women have boobs. Har-har. Get it? Boobs on the ground? Me so funny.”

“…but that’s how it was taken.”
Ah. The old “I’m sorry if over-sensitive people with no sense of humor took my brilliantly witty joke the wrong way” nonpology.

Hey, Eric? You could never in a million years do Major Al Mansouri’s job because you don’t have the talent, character, intelligence, or courage. Because you’re a boob. Get it? Har-har.

  10. I never watch fox so I don’t know this guy but how could he think this was funny by any stretch of the imagination. Talking about a woman in combat. Unbelievable!

  11. As per usual a chicken hawk from FOX’s stable of military experts who have never been close to the military. Bolling a real numnuts with a bucket head full of loose screws.

  12. I think the Jon Stewart wedgie had a lot to do with the second apology, because he framed the hypocrisy with perfect pitch. Bitching about a “latte salute” to inflame the Fox News viewers, then insulting a fighter pilot, while she was fighting for his “freedoms” demonstrated the fake patriotism they daily spoonfeed their elderly audience. It made THEM look bad, and they couldn’t stand that. That’s were the blowback came from. They were painted as hypocrites in their own minds, and the disparity was too painful to endure.

  13. Bolling is also one of those “expert” pundits who criticized President Obama for saying ISIS was not Muslim because real Muslims don’t murder innocent people.
Major Mariam Al Mansouri, like Obama became the first black president, overcame prejudice and all odds to become the first woman combat pilot. She is most likely a Muslim herself and is bombing in the name of justice, renegades who call themselves Muslim. (See the difference, Eric?)
She is to be honored and respected; not ridiculed with bigoted 20th century misogynistic humor.

  14. Never happen. If Faux ever developed any sense of responsibility they’d lose most of their demographic.

  15. Still not a real apology. If you only apologize because your wife gave you “the look” it is not real. It sounds like the second apology is only because his boss told him that Faux News would lose viewers because of his stupidity.

  16. The comment about not being able to park it was actually more of a direct insult and is about her (in-)ability to do even the simplest maneuvers in her plane. The “boobs on the ground” bit was just extra stupid gravy and doesn’t even make sense given the context.

  17. I could not have said it better. Awesome ! I have added this to my facebook page adding : Not Major Mansouri’s fault that she was born with a larger penis then Bolling. But I assume all women have, and that is why the faux news middle school boys have to get even some way.

  18. Is ANYONE here really surprised.. We are talking FOX and the right wing. How ANY woman can be associated with this news group or political organization is dumbfounding. We dont have to go to the Middle East for gender inequality .. we live in a country where 1/2 of it thinks women aren’t worth as much as men, should have no rights, no equal pay, and be subserviant to their male spouses. I sure hope that Fox and Friends pays Elizabeth Hasselbeck 88% of her two bozo bookends salaries, and that Ann Coulter makes 88% of the royalties on her books than the men do .. or else they are as hypocritical as they are stupid.

  19. In his defense, he was being honest when he made that disparaging comment. This is the mentality that Fox and friends and the republicans in politics promote. From Todd Akin’s quip about “legitimate rape” to the latest vitriol emanating from Rush Limbaugh to any of the nasty things republicans have said with regard to women (google it). This is what they really think. This is how they really feel. Fox should not have made him apologize because this is what they promote – it was just a bit too direct for their liking this time.

  20. I know that the haters and liars at the Fox Hates & Lies TV station get paid huge amounts of money to hate and lie. But, I am thinking that they would hate and lie just as much for free, and I’m sure they really do. There is nothing republican that is American any longer, and that’s no lie.

  21. Well it was a crude off-the-cuff remark that he apologized for.

I thought it was funny cause the Major in question is a fighter pilot and the joke didn’t even fit.

Further, I’m uncertain as to how the Latte Salute is related to this ‘story.’ President Obama is Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Services. Eric Bolling is a talking head.

Oh and Sarah, it’s the United Arab Emirates honey. Not the ‘AEU.’

  22. These Fox news boobs just prove over and over again they are not even close to being called journalists, they give opinions and not much else. Unfortunately this is a sign of the times, being rude and crude is a sure fire way to get ratings and sexual innuendo is the lowest common denominator.I am quite certain they all have a good laugh when they discover the controversy they created. Get out and VOTE in November.

  23. Remember, it is Faux. NO woman I know watches it. I’m a veteran and salute that incredible pilot. Had any man said that to me he’d REALLY be sorry…and bent over for a few days.

  24. Have you thought about that when you call someone a boob, using female anatomy with a negative connotation, you are contributing to the misogyny you are seemingly against. It makes me sad to see that so many people in these comments do this without giving it a second thought. “Like a girl”, boob etc is sexism and misogyny so ingrained in the language and every day life that most people don’t notice. One person said in a comment that Major Marium Al Mansouri has more penis than Bolling. She doesn’t have a penis, if anything she has got boobs. Why are balls and penises considered good? And why are boobs and doing something “like a girl” considered bad? This is also sexism.

  25. Ah but she does have a penis. Or should I say men have a clit? They are both the same organ, just one fits a woman and one fits a man.

  26. I think I speak for the vast majority of social rejects when I say: we are not misogynistic. And why is it OK to show contempt for us in public? As if we don’t get enough of it in private.

  27. As soon as Bolling puts on a uniform, much less lead pilots into combat, THEN he can disparage and belittle those that do. Until then… .

  28. Eric Bolling is catering to old gizzers like himself. Would he have said it “Dxxxs on the ground? No, but thats how he and his viewers see the world, see women, is anyone real surpirse, and yes this was the same segment that Eric critized our President for saluting while holding a coffee cup, Eric did not know that “W” did the same thing, saluting while holding his dog, but the fake patriotism, the fake outrage, Eric Bolling is a fool.
