Trump said with a straight face that his opposition to NFL players protesting during the national anthem has nothing to do with race, and no one believes him.

Trump said, “We have great people representing our country, especially our soldiers, our first responders, and they should be treated with respect, and when you get on your knee, and you don’t respect the American flag or the anthem, that’s not being treated with respect.”
When asked if he was inflaming racial tensions, Trump answered, “This has nothing to do with race. This has nothing to do with race. I’ve never said anything about race. This has nothing to do with race or anything else. This has to do with respect for our country and respect for our flag.”
Donald Trump is currently under federal criminal investigation for obstruction of justice related to his presidential campaign’s potential collusion with a hostile foreign power during a presidential election. Trump is also the same person who supported the free speech rights of white supremacists and racists but has been condemning a protest by mostly African-American athletes related to the justice system and police shootings.
Trump’s entire presidency is driven by inflaming racial tensions. If these were a group of white golfers protesting, Trump would praise their brave stand.
The backlash to the protest has been turned into a giant racial dog whistle by the President.
America is laughing at this president because his lies are completely unbelievable.
