House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi alerted Speaker of the House Paul Ryan that Devin Nunes violated House rules by altering the memo that the Intelligence Committee voted on. Pelosi is laying the foundation for an investigation of Nunes.
In a letter that Pelosi wrote to Ryan, “It has now come to our attention that Congressman Nunes deliberately and materially altered the contents of the memo since it was voted on by the House Republicans. This action is not only dangerous, it is illegitimate, and violates House rules. From the start, Congressman Nunes has disgraced the House Intelligence Committee. Since pledging to recuse himself from the Trump-Russia investigation, Congressman Nunes has abused his position to launch a highly unethical and dangerous cover-up campaign for the White House.”
If Democrats take back the House, and Devin Nunes is still a member, look for Democrats to investigate Nunes’ role in the cover-up campaign for Trump. Pelosi wouldn’t bring up the rules violation if she weren’t going somewhere with it, and where it looks like she is going is a House investigation of the Intelligence Committee chair.

Nunes isn’t going to politically survive the fallout, and if Nancy Pelosi becomes Speaker of the House, there will be a real Russia investigation, and the role of Devin Nunes is going to come under intense scrutiny. Should Democrats find themselves in the majority in less than a year, Devin Nunes leave the House before he is thrown out.
