Trump Not Welcomed With Open Arms By The British Public

The British public isn’t being overly welcoming of Trump’s trip to London. Just like in America, they are tolerating his presence.

Keir Simmons of NBC News reported, “The British are as divided as Americans are politically. So it’s a very, very difficult question to answer. Honestly, the streets are not lined with cheering crowds. That’s one image that president trump isn’t getting. Neither, though, are their large-scale demonstrations. We expect demonstrations we’ll see how substantial they are. He hasn’t been welcomed kind of with open arms by the British public, but he has been by the British royal family.”

So far, Trump has complained that he can’t watch Fox News, and has insulted the mayor of London. Trump’s visit is another one of those “good PR” trips just like his trip to Japan was supposed to be last week until Trump shot himself in the foot by agreeing with Kim Jong-un’s criticism of Joe Biden. The one thing that is certain is that Trump isn’t being welcomed as warmly in Britain as Obama was. His reception is even colder than the one that George W. Bush got in the UK on the eve of the Iraq war.

The British people are making their distaste for Trump clear. The trip isn’t the good press bonanza that the White House hoped. The administration is still trying to make Trump look presidential, but the president’s Twitter account has already made this goal a lost cause.
