In the run-up to the January 6th insurrection, Lindsey Graham did plenty to help Donald Trump spread misinformation. The South Carolina senator went as far as to call Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to inquire about the state‘s vote count.
It has only taken a few months for Republicans to try and gaslight Americans about the January 6th insurrection. Last week, congressmen like Paul Gosar and Andrew Clyde painted the rioters as patriots.
On Wednesday, former Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller spoke to lawmakers. And while it was known that Trump’s actions on January 6th were completely un-presidential, Miller painted a picture of just how bad it really was.
On January 6th of this year, a mob of Trump supporters attacked the United States Capitol. While some of the mob seemed harmless, many others did not. Barricades were knocked down, windows were smashed and officers were savagely attacked.
Just a few weeks ago, a mob of Donald Trump supporters stormed the United States Capitol. A number of those participating in the insurrection belonged to militia or white supremacist groups.
The actions of those rioters were completely indefensible. That doesn’t mean, however, that people weren’t going to try. On his Tuesday night show, Tucker Carlson argued that white supremacists shouldn’t be called domestic terrorists.
