Scott Walker Gets Ridiculed For Highest Job Losses in the Nation

Last updated on April 27th, 2012 at 10:21 am

Here’s something you have to watch, just for the sheer deliciousness. Ed Schultz takes on Governor Scott Walker’s worst job losses in the country record. But the fun doesn’t stop there. He then brings on Governor Pat Quinn (D-IL) for a little job growth schadenfreude.

In case you block out most of what Scott Walker says, just a month ago Walker was mocking the Illinois Governor and “breaking his arm patting himself on the back” over his policies. But alas for poor Scott, today the Wisconsin State Journal ran with this headline:

“Wisconsin job losses highest in nation for last 12 months, federal report says.” Oh. OH. Oh.

Job creators. Uh huh.

The Wisconsin State Journal reported that the job losses weren’t all public sector. Oh, no. Walker can kill jobs everywhere. Public, private, you name it, Scott Walker can kill it:

Wisconsin saw the largest percentage decrease in employment in the nation during the 12 months ending in March, a new report by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics said.

During that time period, while 27 states and the District of Columbia saw significant job increases, only Wisconsin saw “statistically significant” job losses, the report said.

From March 2011 to March 2012, the state lost 23,900 jobs, for the country’s largest percentage decrease, at 0.9 percent.

Of the 23,900 jobs lost in Wisconsin in that period, 17,900 were from the public sector and 6,000 were from the private sector, according to the BLS. (Note: Jobs and unemployment rate data in the BLS report for all the states and D.C. refers to non-farm employment.)

Ed included one of his infamous polls in the show, asking if we think Romney would implement Walker type policies. We already know that Romney said he would, praised Walker and his policies specifically while visiting ironically in Waukesha County (home of Republican election malfeasance), where Republicans grow on trees every election day.

We know that Romney subscribes to the same Koch ALEC agenda as Walker. We know Romney thinks Paul Ryan is as close to God as he can get when he’s not hugging on Walker.

We know Romney has the ethics of a turnip. What’s to stop Romney from enacting the very same job killing policies as Scott Walker? You. You are what is going to have to stop him when you vote this November.
