Everyone’s least likely to succeed Congressional Representative, Mr. Darrell Issa of the indicted for grand theft auto infamy and also the endless conspiracies infamy, told Fox News today that his California district will go to a Democrat tonight.
Issa was retiring this year, but his district of San Diego and southern Orange County is traditionally conservative. Mr. Issa won by less than 1 percentage point in 2016. Issa has held the seat since 2003.

Tuesday’s election is between Democrat Mike Levin and Republican Diane Harkey. Levin is leading according to a recent SurveyUSA-conducted poll, with Levin ahead of Harkey 51 percent to 44 percent. Among early voters, Levin had a 13-point lead over Harkey.
That same survey said that the issue is Trump.
“Voters say that the Presidency is the most important issue as they vote in 2018. Among voters focused on the Presidency, Levin leads by 76 points.”
So, the man who paved the way for criminal adjacent, thuggish, conspiracy-minded Trump is watching his district go Democrat because of criminal-adjacent, thuggish, conspiracy-minded Trump.
Darrell Issa was the Trump in Republican before Trump. He’s part of the movement to crazy-thug-conspiracy mongering that now defines the GOP.
Who can forget Mr. Issa claiming that telling the Los Angeles Times (via a barn burner of a portrait by Ryan Lizza in 2011) that it was perfectly fine that he pulled a gun out on an employee he was firing — after all, shots were never fired, y’all.
“Shots were never fired. If I asked Jack to leave, then I think I had every right to ask Jack to leave… . I don’t recall 9having a gun0. I really don’t. I don’t think I ever pulled a gun on anyone in my life.â€
Mr. Issa was also accused by former associates of burning down a building.
Mr. Issa can leave his district in the hands of the sane, and take pride in the fact that while he “received unsatisfactory conduct and efficiency ratings and was transferred to a supply depot,†he did actually serve in the army, unlike our draft-dodging president.
However, on this sticky point, journalist Williams discovered that contrary to his claims, “Issa didn’t provide security for Nixon at the 1971 World Series, because Nixon didn’t attend any of the games.” Oh, dear. But were his crowds the biggest ever?
Issa’s relentless Benghazi investigations resulted in nothing, but they served their purpose as House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) admitted that that the Benghazi Committee was responsible for driving down Hillary Clinton’s 2016 poll numbers.
Lest anyone feel too poorly for Mr. Issa, who had to steal car(s) because he wasn’t born to a silver spoon like Mr. Trump, he was in 2011 worth hundred million dollars.
Crime seems to pay if you’re in the right party, where they “let you do it.”
